Man Killed In Worcester Remembered As Devoted Father

WORCESTER, MA — A man who was killed in Worcester last month is being remembered for his dedication to his family. Jayson Mayhew, 36, was fatally shot during an argument at the Southgate Apartment Building in Worcester on June 21, according to a report by Mass Live.
Antonio Canales-Martinez, 26, was arrested in connection to the shooting, according to a news release from the Worcester Police Department. He now faces multiple charges, including armed assault to murder and assault and battery with a firearm.
Mayhew’s obituary says he was a skilled heavy equipment operator and a devoted family man. He had two sons, Declan and Sawyer, a fiancée and two future stepsons.

“All Jay ever wanted to do in life was be with Declan and Sawyer,” his obituary reads. “There is no doubt that is where he is spending all of his time now, watching over his two babies.”
A celebration of life is planned for September 21 at Novato's in Norfolk, according to his obituary.
