MassDOT Issues Weather Advisory For Travelers

The dangerous conditions are expected to impact roads and highways across Central Massachusetts, including Worcester and Middlesex counties.

WORCESTER, MA - The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) issued a winter weather advisory for travelers across Massachusetts tonight through tomorrow morning.

In addition to the snow and ice warning, still in place, issued by the National Weather Service, the MassDOT is warning travelers that snowfall, precipitation and icy conditions are expected to impact travel.

Central Massachusetts is currently anticipated to get up to three inches of snow. Widespread snowfall is expected to pepper highways and roads tonight, and travelers may experience icy conditions Thursday morning.

"Travelers should allow for extra travel and time and check forecasts for their routes and destinations," the news release read. "MassDOT crews have been pretreating roadways in advance of the storm and will be deploying snow removal staff and equipment as necessary across the Commonwealth."
