GARDNER, MA — The search for a Gardner man wanted in connection in his wife's shooting death intensified Wednesday when authorities issued an arrest warrant for murder.

Aaaron Pennington, 33, has been the subject of a statewide manhunt since Sunday, when his wife, Breanne, 30, was found shot to death inside their Gardner home. Pennington's BMW was found on Monday, but he wasn't inside.

Police have since been focusing their search for Pennington near Camp Collier in Gardner, which is where Pennington's car was found near a trail by a hunter on Monday.

"The investigation into the homicide and Pennington’s whereabouts remains ongoing by Gardner Police, the State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office, and Massachusetts State Police," DA Joseph Early Jr. said in a news release Wednesday.

The couple's four children — ages 2, 5, 7, and 9 — went to a neighbor's house around the time their mother was shot to death. Breanne Pennington had reportedly been planning to move with the children to Texas amid marital problems with Aaron Pennington.
