“First, I want thank City Clerk employees, the Board of Election Commissioners, and the temporary Election Officials and Recount Workers for all their hard work during this hand count marathon. This weekend’s Recount was a collaborative effort and I want to acknowledge the following City Departments for their assistance: The Parks Department, Department of Innovation and Technology,Worcester Police Department and Worcester Public Schools, especially our host, North High. It’s certainly not a small task to hand recount over 26,000 ballots and thoroughly reviewing over 300,000 ovals and candidate names. With 12 candidates on the ballot and up to 6 votes cast per ballot, and hundreds of observers monitoring the counting process, anyone involved in Election Recounts can attest to the complexity of this process and the need for exceptional attention to detail. Per the City Charter and Massachusetts General Laws, the results for the November 4, 2025 Municipal Election, At-Large City Council have now been tallied and approved by the Board of Election Commission and they stand as attached."
