Declared Winter Parking Ban Lifted After Snow Storm In Worcester
The first major winter storm of the season hit Worcester on Tuesday.

WORCESTER, MA — A declared winter parking ban for Worcester was lifted at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, the morning after the first winter storm of the season.
Residents who parked in municipal garages during the ban have until 4 p.m. on Wednesday to exit for free, while regular rates apply to those entering after 7 a.m. However, the permanent winter parking ban remains in effect through Apr. 30.
The declared parking ban went into effect at 11 p.m. on Monday. Parking was prohibited on both sides of main arteries, emergency and bus routes, and streets in the downtown area critical to traffic flow, according to the city. On all other roads, parking was allowed on the odd-numbered side.

All municipal parking garages were free for all vehicles after 5 p.m. on Monday.

Residents were asked to use one of the following garages:
- Federal Plaza – 570 Main St.
- Major Taylor – 30 Major Taylor Blvd.
- Pearl & Elm Garage – 20 Pearl St.
- Worcester Common Garage – 3 Eaton Place
- Union Station Garage – 225 Franklin St.
Towing and ticketing were enforced to keep streets clear.
