Planned Parenthoods In Worcester, Marlborough Get Money Amid President Trump's Cuts

There are four Planned Parenthood locations in the state.

WORCESTER, MA — Planned Parenthood centers in Massachusetts received money amid President Trump's efforts to defund the organization, according to Gov. Maura Healey's office.

The Central Massachusetts Health Center in Worcester and the Metro West Health Center in Marlborough are among the four Planned Parenthood locations in Massachusetts that received money. The organization got $2 million in funding through the state's FY2025 budget, according to Gov. Healey.

State funds fully cover abortion services, so the governor said the money will go toward cancer screenings, pap smears, contraception and STI testing and treatment.

“President Trump is continuing his assault on women's access to essential health care, including abortion, by cutting off federal funding for most Planned Parenthood clinics across the country," stated Gov. Healey in a news release. "Massachusetts will always be a place that stands for a woman’s right to make her own health care decisions and protects these fundamental freedoms.”
