WORCESTER, MA—A Southbridge man was sentenced to two years in the Worcester County House of Correction after being convicted for the fourth time for operating under the influence of alcohol, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. Randy Butler, 51, was found guilty on Wednesday by a Superior Court jury for OUI and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He was sentenced on Friday by Judge Paul D. Wilson, who also ordered two years of probation for Butler following the jail sentence. Assistant District Attorney Kelly Heard recommended a sentence of 4 ½ to 5 years in state prison on the OUI conviction and two years of probation on the negligent operation conviction. Butler was arrested in the early morning of Aug. 6, 2016, after driving his motor vehicle on Washington Street in Auburn with one of his tires worn to the rim. During the trial, Auburn Police Officer Christopher Raymond testified that Butler's motor vehicle reached speeds of 60 mph and failed to maintain its lane.
