Teen Girl Suffers Serious Injuries In Worcester Pedestrian Strike
Police said the girl was crossing Shrewsbury Street when she was hit by a Buick at about 4 p.m. on Monday.

WORCESTER, MA — A teen girl was recovering from serious injuries on Tuesday morning after Worcester police said she was struck by a car while crossing Shrewsbury Street Monday afternoon.
Police said they responded to the area of 164 Shrewsbury Street for a report of a pedestrian strike at about 4 p.m. and found the young girl — identified as a 13-year-old, according to WCVB-TV — suffering from serious injuries.
Worcester officers, paramedics and firefighters attended to the girl, who was taken to an area hospital.

Police said the preliminary investigation showed the girl was crossing the busy street on foot when she was hit by a Buick, and that the investigation continues. Police did not say if the driver had been charged in the pedestrian strike.
