Walgreens Closing Worcester Store: 'We Regret Any Inconvenience"
The Walgreen's location will close in early November along a street that recently also lost a CVS.

WORCESTER, MA — The number of Walgreens stores in Worcester will shrink to five in early November with the impending closure of the Lincoln Street location.
Walgreens sent a letter to customers around the 472 Lincoln St. location advising that the store would close by Nov. 9. The letter directed customers to visit the local along West Boylston Street instead.
"After careful consideration, we have decided to close your neighborhood Walgreens at 472 Lincoln St. in Worcester on Thursday, November 9, 2023," the letter said. "We regret any inconvenience this may cause but hope to make the transition as seamless as possible."

The Walgreens is the second chain pharmacy to leave Lincoln Street recently. The CVS along Lincoln across from the UMass Memorial Hahnemann campus closed earlier this year. The CVS along Front Street in downtown Worcester is set to close by Nov. 1.
