WATCH: MA Trooper Makes Sure Owl 'Gronk' Doesn't Have Concussion

When an owl flew inside the cruiser and knocked himself out, the trooper was worried he had suffered a concussion.

TOLLAND, MA— As if it isn't startling enough to encounter an owl suddenly fluttering around your vehicle, Trooper Michael O'Neil Jr. remained calm when he realized the bird had found his way into the cruiser.

O'Neil pulled over, and realized the owl had hit something and became unconscious. He checked for visible injuries, but found none, so with the owl on his lap, drove over to Granville for an evaluation at an animal hospital.

The owl came to while driving, so O'Neil once again pulled over and gave the owl five concussion protocol tests, which it passed. The owl, who they nicknamed Gronk, eventually flew off, back to its home field, said police.
