WORCESTER, MA — The largest snow event in recent weeks will hit Massachusetts starting Monday night, and Worcester County will see some of the biggest impacts in the state.

A National Weather Service winter storm warning will go into effect at 7 p.m. Monday, with forecasts warning of 6 to 8 inches across the area. The snow will begin to come down between 11 p.m. and 2 a.m. Tuesday — and will likely continue into the Tuesday morning commute.

"Travel will be very difficult Monday night. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday morning commute. Rising temperatures and lighter snow will result in road conditions slowly improving Tuesday afternoon," the winter storm warning said.
