Woman Convicted Of 2015 Stabbing Death In Crystal Park: Worcester DA

Erika Mullen was found guilty of stabbing Carlos Estrada, killing him, in 2015.

WORCESTER, MA—A woman was found guilty of voluntary manslaughter on Thursday in the 2015 stabbing death of Carlos Estrada in Worcester’s University Park, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.

Erika Mullen was found guilty of stabbing Estrada, 33, of 12 Tirrell St., five times late on Oct. 3 in 2015 during an altercation in Crystal Park. He died on Oct. 4.

Judge Douglas H. Wilkins scheduled sentencing for 2 p.m., Oct. 30.

A second suspect, Anthony Chambers of 26 Mendon St., is awaiting trial. He was the boyfriend of Mullen, 33, Sever Street.

“I’d like to thank the jury for their deliberations,” Early said in a statement. “We appreciate their diligence over the last three days in reaching this verdict. I would also like to thank Chief Steve Sargent and the Worcester Police Department for their hard work on this very difficult case.”
