Woman Crossing Street Injured By Pickup Truck: WPD

A crash that injured a woman walking on Lincoln Street is still under investigation.

WORCESTER, MA—A woman was injured when she was hit by a pickup truck as she was crossing Lincoln Street on Thursday.

Shortly before 9 a.m., police were called to the area of 587 Lincoln St., where a pedestrian had just been struck. A 32-year-old woman was lying in the street and bleeding from her head and a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was stopped in the middle of the road.

The woman was treated at the scene and sent to a hospital where she suffers from a head and leg injury.

Investigators say that the woman was walking on Oriel Drive and coming up upon the intersection of Lincoln Street and when she started to cross Lincoln from east to west, she was hit by the pickup truck that was headed southeast. She had been walking near but not in the crosswalk.

The crash is under investigation.
