Woman Found Dead, Close Family Member Under Arrest
Man was arrested in Worcester after a woman is found dead in her home.

WORCESTER, MA—A close family member of a woman is facing charges after she was found dead in her home on Saturday night.
Around 11:30 p.m. on Dec. 30, police were called to a home on Bailey Street for a well-being check after being told that a 56-year-old resident may have been harmed. The caller also said that the person who may have harmed her left and was at the Dunkin Donuts on Chandler Street.
Officers went to the home and there was no answer. Inside, they found a deceased 56-year-old female and it appeared the death was caused by direct trauma.

At Dunkin Donuts at 211 Chandler St., officers found the 26-year-old suspect standing outside. He was identified as a close relative to the victim. Detectives talked with the suspect and other family members and the male was placed under arrest and charged with aggravated assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and domestic assault and battery. The exact cause of death is pending the results of a post mortem examination, said police. Additional charges may follow as the investigation moves forward.
Due to the current domestic laws, the name of the suspect and victim can not be released at this time.
The suspect will be arraigned on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
