WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester woman is facing up to 13 years in prison for the stabbing of a Worcester man in Crystal Park, said the district attorney. Erika Mullen was sentenced to 10-13 years in state prison on Monday after being found guilty of voluntary manslaughter on Oct. 19 in the 2015 stabbing death of Carlos Estrada in Worcester's University Park, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr. Estrada, 33, of 12 Tirrell St., died after being stabbed five times on the evening of Oct. 3, 2015, during an altercation in the park, which is sometimes called Crystal Park. Superior Court Judge Douglas H. Wilkins handed down the sentence after Assistant District Attorney David P. Feraco recommended that Ms. Mullen, 33, of 26 Sever St., be sent to prison for 18-20 years. Defense attorney Mark Wester asked the judge for a sentence of five years to five years and a day. A second suspect, Anthony Chambers of 26 Mendon St., is awaiting trial.
