How To Get Rid Of A Christmas Tree In Worcester In 2021

Here's where and when to dispose of your organic Christmas tree in Worcester following the Dec. 25 holiday.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester did not waste any time getting its Christmas tree disposal operation up and running in 2021.

The city began collecting organic trees on Dec. 26, and will continue to collect them through Jan. 9. Here are the three sites around the city where you can drop off an organic tree.

  • 1005 Millbury St. (near the VFW hall)
  • 300 Chandler St. (across from Foley Stadium)
  • 100 Clark St. (at East Mountain Street)

Tree collection hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekends, and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. The sites will be closed on New Year's Day, and visitors must bring proof of Worcester residency.

The city does not collect artificial trees at these dump sites. Trees also have to be completely bare, including lights, tinsel and other ornaments. Contact the city's public works department with questions at (508) 929-1300.
