Raking News: Worcester 2023 Leaf Collection Begins
Worcester's citywide fall leaf collection extravaganza begins on Nov. 6 and continues through December.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester's 2023 fall leaf collection period will begin on Nov. 6, with trucks moving neighborhood-by-neighborhood each week scooping up autumn refuse left curbside.
The 2023 leaf collection will begin in around downtown Worcester for people whose trash pickup day is Wednesday. Beyond the first week, pickups could happen almost any day of the month and correspond with your local trash pickup day.
Neighborhoods in northeast Worcester's where trash pickup happens on Tuesday will be the last to have leaf pickup this year, stretching perhaps into December.

The leaf collection period also means on-street parking bans — a special issue for east side residents who live in triple-deckers without driveways. The city says it will try to give notice one to two days before a collection hits a neighborhood, but keep an eye out for no-parking signs because they sometimes appear within hours of a collection. Drivers get $50 fine fsor disobeying parking bans.
There's also an alternative to curbside leaf pickup. Residents can drop off leaves, brush and tree branches at one of three sites through the end of November:
