WORCESTER, MA - NEADS World Class Service Dogs, a Princeton-based nonprofit that trains and raises dogs, is actively seeking puppy raisers for 13 service-dog-in-training puppies.

"The demand for highly trained service dogs continues to grow," said Heather Romanoff, manager of raiser operations. Puppy raisers can be individuals, couples, families or retirees with a passion for animals. NEADS is seeking people based in Worcester and Franklin Counties, including Leominster, Fitchburg, Deerfield, Greenfield, Gardner, Princeton and Shelburne by the end of March.

The puppies have been working on crate training, leash walking and housebreaking skills. Now, they're ready for their next 6-12 months of training. Puppy raisers should be able to provide a nurturing environment for a service dog, physically manage a young and energetic animal and attend training sessions with a NEADS trainer either virtually or in person.
