Worcester Celebrates Black History Month With Series Of Events

WORCESTER, MA—Worcester is celebrating Black History month with a variety of events and commemorations, "reflecting on the many sacrifices and great contributions African Americans have made to our country.

"Throughout our history, African Americans have courageously worn our Nation's uniform while defending peace and liberty around the globe," said the statement from the city. "African American patriots broke down racial barriers and inspired our Nation to make good on the promise of equal justice under the law. Educators transformed the academic world with the goal of ensuring that every child has access to a good education. And athletes and entertainers have brought pride and joy to generations of Americans."
