Worcester 'Clean Team' Will Begin Picking Up Trash In Neighborhoods
The city's renewed Clean Team is part of an expansion of the Quality of Life team.

WORCESTER, MA — A team of volunteers and city workers focused on picking up litter has been reformed, and will start work on Saturday.
The City Manager’s Clean Team will move through select neighborhoods in Worcester in the coming months performing litter pickups. The first will happen Saturday at 9 a.m. in District 4, according to City Manager Eric Batista's office.
The Clean Team will be part of an expanded Quality of Life team — a group of city workers from different departments that respond to blight and nuisance issues complaints across the city.

Following Saturday's District 4 cleanup, the Clean Team will "work its way through each Council District on different dates," the city said in a news release. City councilors will help select where the litter pickups happen.
"The return of the City Manager’s Clean Team is part of an effort to bolster our Quality of Life Team’s work in beautifying our city," Batista said in a news release. "The Clean Team is an opportunity for members of my office to work directly with community members to help improve our neighborhoods. Everyone in the City deserves a clean neighborhood."
