The Worcester Job Fund connects Worcester residents with good jobs made available through development projects and job expansion activities. The Fund focuses on connecting low-income Worcester residents, including people of color, veterans, the unemployed and people with a past felony conviction to good jobs with apprenticeships or career ladders. We have successfully trained and placed Worcester residents as Building Trade apprentices, diesel technicians, DPW employees, and recruited employees for Table Talk and trained them in an industrial food production program.
The Worcester Jobs Fund is unique as it has flexibility to focus on industries that not only have a demand for new employees, but also offer career pathways and living wages. Through the leadership of the City Manager the Jobs Fund has been a successful partnership between Government, the Chamber of Commerce, community based organizations and labor unions.
