Worcester Lake To Undergo Algae Treatment
The city is urging residents to stay out of the water during the treatment.

WORCESTER, MA — A lake in Worcester will undergo a preventative algae treatment next week.
Indian Lake will be treated with algaecide copper sulfate on Monday. The city advises residents not to go swimming and to keep their boats and pets out of the water.
There is no threat of harmful algae exposure, according to the city. The treatment is solely preventative. The copper sulfate treatment is used to control the growth of cyanobacteria, a toxic blue-green algae.
