Worcester Man Caught With More Than 200 Grams Of Fentanyl: Police

Officers nabbed the suspect while executing a search warrant.

WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester man is facing drug trafficking charges after the police department's Vice Squad seized 200 grams of fentanyl at a residence on Thursday morning, according to a news release from the Worcester Police Department.

Worcester Police said Joel Avarado Santos, 35, was arrested when Vice Squad officers executed a search warrant for a home on Grant Street and a vehicle.

After 9 a.m. on Thursday, officers pulled the suspect over and executed the search warrant. Inside the home, officers said they found a large amount of what appeared to be fentanyl wrapped in bags.

Officers also found a digital scale and packaging materials.

Avarado Santos was charged with trafficking in a Class A substance over 200 grams.
