Worcester Man Charged In Cambridge Shootings: DA

A Worcester man has been charged in connection to a Cambridge shooting that occurred in March 2021.

WORCESTER, MA - According to the Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan's office, new charges have been brought against a Worcester man in connection to a pair of shootings in Cambridge between 2021 and 2023.

In February, Ryan announced her office would be investigating a series of shootings around the Boston area. Now, a Worcester man has been charged in connection.

Anthony Samuel-Smith, 27, of Worcester was indicted along with a Braintree man for their roles in a March 2021 shooting and armed robbery on Spring and Fifth Streets that left one victim seriously injured.

Around 1 a.m., Samuel-Smith and Jameel Taron Clark White reportedly drove to the corner of Spring and Fith Streets in Cambridge to meet the aforementioned victim and one other man. Clark White shot the victim at close range, stole his vehicle which contained cocaine and fentanyl and drove away with Samuel-Smith.

Samuel-Smith's car was found by responding officers parked nearby, and during the ensuing investigation police linked the pistol to Clark White. The former was charged with armed robbery with a firearm, carjacking with a firearm, trafficking cocaine over 200 grams, trafficking fentanyl over 200 grams, conspiracy to traffic cocaine and fentanyl over 200 grams, accessory after the fact to assault and battery by discharge of a firearm, use of a firearm during a felony, possession of a firearm (second offense), possession of a firearm and possession of a loaded firearm.
