Her family wants to charter a medical flight back to Boston, but she has neither travel nor health insurance, according to WCVB.
WORCESTER, MA — A Worcester nurse is hospitalized abroad after suffering a severe fall while visiting Costa Rica, and her family is working to bring her back to the U.S., according to a report from WCVB.
Kiara Diaz, 29, is being hospitalized with a broken collarbone and broken spine; she also cannot temporarily move her legs, WCVB reported. She and her friends were hiking when Diaz fell backward three meters and landed on her back, her brother, Gindember Diaz, told the news outlet.
WCVB reported that while her family wants to charter a medical flight back to Boston, Diaz has neither travel nor health insurance. Now they are up against paperwork and costs.
