Worcester-based Organizations Receive Grants For Perinatal Health
The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation announced more than $770,000 in grant funding to support 15 organizations.
WORCESTER, MA — Three Worcester organizations received a Perinatal Health Grant from the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts Foundation.
The foundation announced more than $770,000 in grant funding. Worcester Addresses Childhood Trauma, Worcester RISE for Health, and Family Health Center of Worcester were among 15 organizations granted funding.
Worcester Division of Public Health will partner with Worcester ACTs for culturally responsive perinatal education, public awareness campaigns, and events guided by the Citywide Black and Brown Maternal Health Work plan.

The funding granted to FHCW will be used to "expand the capacity of its OB Advocates program, which connects community members with trained and culturally-aligned doulas during pregnancy through two years postpartum."
The funding granted to Worcester RISE for Health will be used to "strengthen its Maternal Care Access program for refugee and immigrant communities by providing practice-based mentorship for doulas and developing a centralized referral system and wraparound supports."
