Worcester PD Investigate May Street Shooting

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police are investigating a shooting that happened on May Street Friday night. A woman in her 30s suffered non-life threatening injuries.

An officer on patrol was flagged down by a group of about 10 people who said a woman had been shot, according to police. The officer called for backup and tried to get to the woman who was in the middle of the crowd, but the officer was blocked by "hostile members of the crowd," according to police.

The officer found the woman, 38, in the crowd and got her medical attention. She was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
