Worcester PD Make Arrest In Friday Night Stabbing

A fight in an Elm Street apartment left one man stabbed in the cheek.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police arrested a 31-year-old man in connection with a stabbing that happened on Friday night. Joseph Erb was charged with armed assault to murder and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Worcester police were called to an Elm Street apartment for a fight that left one man stabbed. A 28-year-old man was stabbed in the cheek by an acquaintance during the fight, according to police. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Another man at the apartment broke up the fight and was taken to the hospital for trouble breathing, according to police.

Police said Erb and a small group of friends had been drinking at the Elm Street apartment when an argument started. Officers developed probable cause that Erb stabbed the victim in the face with his pocket knife. Police found Erb on Sever Street and arrested him.
