Worcester State Shooter Wanted On Multiple Charges: DA

Kevin Rodriguez, a recent Essex County resident, shot two people at Worcester State University early Saturday morning, authorities said.

WORCESTER, MA — Authorities are searching for an 18-year-old man in connection to Saturday's shooting at Worcester State University that left one person dead and another wounded.

Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. on Sunday afternoon released images of Kevin Rodriguez, who most recently lived in Lawrence. Early said Rodriguez is likely armed, so anyone who sees him should call 911.

Early said he is pursuing charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and armed assault with intent to murder against Rodriguez.

Police responded to the Worcester State campus near 2:30 a.m. Saturday on a report of a shooting. They found two victims at the scene. A 19-year-old died, and a 21-year-old sustained minor injuries. Neither victim has been identified.

No one involved in the shooting was a student at Worcester State, Early said.
