Worcester State Shooting Suspect Returning To MA After Brooklyn Arrest
Kevin Rodriguez, 18, will likely appear in court in Worcester next week, according to the district attorney.
WORCESTER, MA — The main suspect in last weekend's fatal shooting at Worcester State University will soon be back in Massachusetts following his arrest yesterday in New York City.
Kevin Rodriguez, 18, has waived an extradition hearing, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr. That means he'll be brought back to Massachusetts quickly to appear in court next week to face charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and armed assault with intent to murder.
The shooting happened early Saturday morning in a parking lot at the Worcester State campus. A 21-year-old man was injured in the shooting. Randy Armando Melendez Jr. died after the shooting.
