Worcester Students Earn Most-Ever Acceptances To Central MA Music Festival
A total of 36 students earned festival acceptances, and 24 of them received All-State recommendations.
WORCESTER, MA — Worcester students delivered record-breaking performances at the Central District Massachusetts Music Educators Association Senior Festival auditions on Nov. 15.
About 75 students from Burncoat High School, Doherty Memorial High School, and South High Community School competed alongside hundreds for placement in the CDMMEA Senior Festival, which is an opportunity for high school musicians to audition for placement in district-wide ensembles.
A total of 36 Worcester students earned festival acceptances, and 24 received All-State recommendations, awarded to students who scored within the top 40 percent of their audition room.

This marks the highest number of festival accepted by Worcester Public Schools since tracking began in 2017.

Accepted students get the chance to perform in district-wide concert bands, orchestras, jazz bands, and choruses with top-performing peers from across Central Massachusetts.
