Worcester Teacher Headed To Australia To Study Great Barrier Reef

Kelly Cox will study coral reef ecology and the conservation of marine systems along the Great Barrier Reef.

WORCESTER, MA— Worcester resident Kelly Cox continues with her graduate coursework through Earth Expeditions (EE) from Miami University's Project Dragonfly, traveling to Australia in July 2018. Cox will study coral reef ecology and the conservation of marine systems along the Great Barrier Reef.

Cox works as a teacher at Worcester Public Schools.

Project Dragonfly's Earth Expeditions graduate courses engage people in firsthand educational and scientific research at critical conservation field sites in Africa, Australia, Asia and the Americas. Dragonfly is located in the department of biology at Miami University, a state university in Oxford, Ohio. Miami was established in 1809 and is listed as one of the eight original Public Ivies.
