WORCESTER, MA — A woman in Worcester hit the jackpot and won $1 million in one of the state lottery’s instant ticket games.

Michelle Sloan originally thought she won $10,000 on the ticket after she bought it at Village Knoll Variety in Millbury. She only found out how much cash she won when she went to the Lottery’s Worcester regional office.

Sloan told the Massachusetts State Lottery that she plans to invest and use it to help her children.
