Youth for Community Improvement Seeks Applicants for Fall Program

Incoming high school sophomores and juniors in Worcester County are encouraged to apply.

Youth for Community Improvement (YCI), a teen grant making committee of Greater Worcester Community Foundation, is accepting applications for its fall 2016 program, as announced Friday, April 1. Incoming high school sophomores and juniors in Worcester County are encouraged to apply.

Entering its 17th year, YCI has engaged nearly 200 teens from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds since 1999 and awarded approximately $310,000 to 75 nonprofit organizations throughout Worcester County. The only non-school, youth grant making committee in the area, YCI empowers teens to make important funding decisions in the community and develop grant making and leadership skills. YCI granted more than $23,000 in funds for local organizations in 2015.
