3 MI Breweries Win Medals At 2025 World Beer Cup

Widely regarded as the "Olympics of Beer," the World Beer Cup is the largest beer competition in the world.

MICHIGAN — Three Michigan breweries took home an award at the World Beer Cup this spring.

This year, Tilted Axis Brewing Co., Archival Brewing and Haymarket Beer Co. each took home an award.

Tilted Axis Brewing Co., located in Lapeer, was awarded a silver medal in the American Wheat Beer category for its "Lunar Fallout." The beer has a 5.6 percent ABV, according to Untappd.

Archival Brewing, located in Belmont, was given a silver medal in the Historical Beer category with its AEgir's Wreath. The brewery says the beer is a Finnish farmhouse ale that's made with fresh juniper berries. It also has zero hop additions and a clean grain bill of rye and barley malts and uses a double decoction brewing method. It has a 5.9 percent ABV.

Haymarket Beer Co., located in Bridgman, earned a silver medal in the Strong Porter category with its Baltic Porter, which has an 8.5 percent ABV.

There were more than 100 different categories brewers could submit their chosen brew in for the 2024 competition, and in the brown porter category, there were 51 total entries.
