“Dylan is such a good kid,” says his worker, “and such a helpful person who is always trying to do better and better.

“He’s a sweet young man who can make a friend anywhere! He’s fun and not afraid to be goofy. He loves to tease and laugh with others. He’s very caring and will help anyone in need. When you visit him, he is always so happy to see you.

“He’s also very accommodating. During one of our visits, Dylan taught a trainee how to play a certain game and was so patient and understanding while the trainee was learning.”

Fourteen-year-old Dylan loves to be outdoors and enjoys hiking, swimming, yardwork, and having fun with friends.

“He’s very good with structure,” his worker says, “and likes being on a schedule. He’s a ‘hands-on’ guy who enjoys putting things together and taking them apart. He loves Legos, and I often ask him to ‘make me a new creation.’”

“I like to do puzzles and board games,” Dylan says, “and I like to bowl. My favorite movies are Lilo and Stitch, Moana II, and Sonic III.

“I get good grades,” he continues, “like As, Bs, and Cs... I’d have to say that Math and Spanish are my favorite subjects: ‘Habla Espanol!’ English is kind of my struggle. I really need to work hard to get it.

“I’m proud that I get good grades. If you ask what the best thing about me is,” he says, “I’m funny, loving, helpful, and kind. And when I’m an adult, I want to be a vet because I love animals.”

“Dylan would do best in a structured environment” his worker says, “where he can get one-on-one attention. A mom and dad, older siblings, and pets like a dog or farm animals would be ideal for him. Families with outdoor interests or active hobbies would be great for Dylan as well.

“He would also benefit from a male mentor – someone who would see him on a weekly basis, spend time with him, play a game, share phone calls.

“Dylan very much wants to be adopted. He is very intelligent, and I hope someone can see that, under his casual exterior, he wants somebody to love him and not abandon him.”

Dylan has ideas of what he’d like to do with a forever family.

“I’d like to travel, play games, and go hiking. I like camping – and I’ve never been in a kayak. A family means being there when they need you. I’d really like to get adopted and have a family finally.”
