MICHIGAN — Cucumbers sold at Walmart in three states, including Michigan, are being recalled due to listeria concerns, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration announced last week.
The cucumbers were packaged by Wiers Farm out of Ohio, though the cucumbers were grown and harvested out-of-state, according to federal health officials.
The recall includes whole cucumbers with a pack date of June 5 and bagged salad cucumbers with a pack date of June 5 and June 6. They were sold at Walmart stores in Indiana, Michigan and Ohio, according to federal health officials.

"Wiers Farm operates to the highest standards of health and food safety. We have taken immediate steps to address this isolated incident and we are collaborating closely with the Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) to ensure a swift resolution," officials said in a statement.
Symptoms of listeriosis usually start within two weeks after eating food contaminated with Listeria. They can start as early as the same day or as late as 10 weeks later, the FDA said. Mild symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, nausea, tiredness, vomiting, and diarrhea. More severe symptoms can include headache, stiff neck, confusion, loss of balance, and convulsions.
Listeria will most likely sicken pregnant people, newborns, adults who are 65 or older, and those with weakened immune systems.
