Gas Prices Continue Falling Across Michigan

Michigan is seeing the steepest decline in gas prices across the country, according to AAA.

MICHIGAN — Gas prices in Michigan continued falling Thursday morning with prices down 15 cents from last week, according to AAA.

After seeing some of the highest gas prices in the nation, Michigan and the Metro Detroit area are now seeing the steepest decline of prices across the country, according to AAA.

Michiganders paid an average of $4.12 cents, four cents cheaper than Wednesday and 15 cents cheaper from a week ago, according to AAA. However, prices were still 72 cents higher than this time last year, according to AAA.

In the Metro Detroit area, drivers paid an average of $3.98 for a regular gallon of gas, four cents cheaper than Wednesday and 18 cents cheaper from last week, according to AAA. However, prices were still up 58 cents from this time last year, according to AAA.

Fears of a global recession and a lack of demand have pushed the price of crude down to $7, causing the downward trend in gas prices across the country, according to AAA.
