Michigan's minimum wage will rise to $13.73 per hour on Jan. 1, up from its current $12.48 per hour. The increase is part of a plan to bring minimum wage to $15 an hour on Jan. 1, 2027.
The state's tipped minimum wage will rise on Jan. 1. It will rise to $5.49 per hour, which is 40 percent of the full minimum wage. That number will go up from its current $4.74 an hour.

Other increases that will go into effect on Jan. 1. include:
- The 85 percent rate for minors age 16 and 17 will increase from $10.60 to $11.67 per hour.
- The training wage of $4.25 per hour for newly hired employees under the age of 20 for their first 90 calendar days of employment remains unchanged.
