Man Arrested After Performing "Lewd Act" At Southeast MI Library: Police
A man was arrested Tuesday after performing a "lewd act" inside a southeastern Michigan public library, according to police.
MONROE, MI — A man was arrested Tuesday after performing a "lewd act" inside a Monroe public library, according to police.
The incident happened at 8:50 a.m. Monday at the Dorsch Memorial Library on First Street near Monroe Street, according to police.
Using surveillance video, police said the 24-year-old man approached a woman employee, distracted her, and went on to commit "a lewd act" while she faced away from him.

Officers found the man, whom they identified as a transient man, and questioned him, police said.
Police said he admitted to the crime and was arrested. Police did not immediately release the man's name.

Police said the man is also linked to a similar incident that happened over the weekend at the Oaks of Righteousness Shelter. The victim in that case says she intends to pursue charges, police said.
