"The American people have spoken. I wish President-elect Trump the best of luck," Whitmer said. "After a peaceful transfer of power, I hope he leads by trying to unite people, including those who did not vote for him or do not support him. That's what a president must do for the good of our country."

"As governor of the great state of Michigan, my job remains the same no matter who is in the White House. I am focused on getting things done that make a real difference in people's lives," she added.

U.S. Sen. Gary Peters, D-MI

"Like so many of you, I’m disappointed in the outcome of the presidential election," Peters said. "But now it’s time to roll up our sleeves and work across the aisle on what matters most to Michigan families."

"I’ll never stop fighting to deliver results for all Michiganders," Peters said.

U.S. Rep. Haley Stevens, D-MI

"While I had hoped and worked for a different outcome, I respect the electoral process," Stevens said. "May President-elect Trump put the interests of the country ahead of his own and protect the sacred system of secular democracy, which has served the American people for more than two centuries and granted him the incredible privilege and responsibly of leading this great nation."

Michigan Republican Party Communications Director Victoria LaCivita

"Congratulations to Donald J. Trump and Senator JD Vance on their victory. After four years under Kamala Harris, Michiganders are eager for President Trump to fix what Kamala Harris broke. Starting on Day 1, President Trump and Vice President JD Vance will help to ease costs, secure the border — and Make America Great Again," LaCivita said.
