Michigan Passes Proposal 3, Protecting Abortion Rights: AP

MICHIGAN — Michiganders voted in favor of amending the state's constitution to protect a woman's right to an abortion, the Associated Press projects.

The proposal came to light shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the landmark 1973 Roe v Wade ruling, which triggered a 1931 state law banning abortion in nearly every circumstance in Michigan.
