MICHIGAN — Democrat Jocelyn Benson is projected to retain her seat as the state's top elections official, according to the Associated Press.

Benson defeated Republican challenger Kristina Karamo, who was backed former President Donald Trump, according to the Associated Press.

Benson fiercely defended Michigan's electoral process during the 2020 U.S. Presidential Election as former President Donald Trump claimed the election was stolen from him. Karamo also routinely questioned the results of the election.
