These Were MI's Most Dangerous Intersections In 2024: Report
Most of the intersections are in the Detroit area.
A majority of Michigan's most dangerous intersections are in the metro Detroit area, according to Michigan Auto Law report.
The group used 2024 data from Michigan State Police to determine which intersections saw the most traffic crashes. On their list of the top 20 worst intersections, only two are outside southeastern Michigan.
The group said the leading causes of intersection crashes were: running red lights, disregarding stop signs, disregarding yield signs, failing to yield the right-of-way, disregarding the right-of-way laws, improper left-hand turns, speeding, distracted driving and impaired driving.

"The goal of this report isn't to alarm drivers, but to help them stay informed and safe," Michigan Auto Law President and Attorney Steve Gursten said. "When drivers understand where these dangerous intersections are, and what behaviors contribute to crashes, they can make smarter, safer decisions behind the wheel. Knowledge is one of the most powerful tools we have for preventing accidents."
