Troopers were executing a narcotics search at the home when the 49-year-old man confronted them with a shotgun, according to police.

MONTROSE TOWNSHIP, MI — Troopers shot and killed a man who was armed with a shotgun Wednesday morning in Genesee County, according to Michigan State Police.
The incident happened at 5:30 a.m. at a home in the 9000 block of River Grove Road in Montrose Township, which is roughly 20 miles northwest of Flint, according to police.

Troopers told the man to drop the gun, but he refused and was shot by a trooper, according to police.
The man was killed in the shooting, according to police.

Troopers also shot a 47-year-old woman, who was then taken to a hospital and listed in stable condition, according to police.
Police did not say if she had a weapon.
Troopers also detained a juvenile and arrested two other men in connection with the shooting, according to police.
Police did not report any other injuries in the shooting.
