Multiple movie theaters around metro Detroit will show the Michigan Wolverines national championship game Monday night.

METRO DETROIT — Multiple movie theaters around metro Detroit will show the Michigan Wolverines national championship game Monday night.

Both MJR and Emagine theaters throughout metro Detroit are hosting watch parties.

MJR theaters in Brighton, Sterling Heights and Southgate will show the game. Tickets are $20.

Emagine theaters in Birmingham (Palladium), Canton, Macomb, Novi, Rochester Hills, Royal Oak, Saline and Woodhaven. Tickets are also $20.

The No. 1 ranked Michigan Wolverines (14-0) will play No. 2 Washington Huskies (14-0) Monday night, Jan. 8, at NRG Stadium in Houston. Kickoff is scheduled for around 7:30 p.m. The game will be on ESPN.

The Wolverines defeated the No. 4 Alabama Crimson Tide 27-20 in overtime in the College Football Playoff National Semi Final, which was the Rose Bowl game. It was the Wolverines first Rose Bowl win since 1997 when they defeated the Washington State Cougars, and were named Associated Press National Champions.

The Huskies defeated the No. 3 Texas Longhorns 37-31 in the second College Football Playoff National Semi Final, which was the Sugar Bowl. It was the Huskies first major bowl win since the 2001 Rose Bowl.
