Whitmer To Speak At The Democratic National Convention
Whitmer is expected to speak the same night Vice President Kamala Harris formally accepts the Democratic nomination.

MICHIGAN — Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and U.S. Rep Elissa Slotkin are scheduled to speak at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday.
Whitmer, who serves as co-chair for the Harris-Walz campaign, will speak the same night Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to formally accept the Democratic nomination.
Whitmer, along with U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow and Michigan Democratic Party Chair Lavora Barnes, announced Michigan's delegates Tuesday night at the convention.

Slotkin plans to speak on national security and "what's at stake in the November election," according to the post.
Other notable Michiganders who have or are expected to speak at the convention, include U.S. Senator Gary Peters, United Auto Workers President Shawn Fain and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who is also slated to speak at the convention.
Michigan will play a pivotal role in the 2024 U.S. Presidential Election. A recent poll from the Cook Political Report Swing State Project showed Harris had a slight lead over former President Donald Trump.
