- The Jewish faithful will observe Yom Kippur, a holy day of atonement, beginning the evening of Friday, Sept. 13, and ending the evening of Saturday, Sept. 14.
- Les Misérables plays through Sept. 29 at the Baldwin Theatre in downtown Royal Oak. Show time is 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday; 2 p.m. Sunday.
- The DIY Street Fair and Funky Ferndale Art Fair will be held Friday, Sept. 13, through Sunday, Sept. 15, throughout downtown.
- Open skating will be available at the Berkley Ice Arena noon-1:50 p.m. Friday, 7-8:50 p.m. Saturday and 5-6:50 p.m. Sunday. The cost is $5 for adults and $4 for kids 12 and younger; skate rental is $3.
- Greenfield Presbyterian Church will host the Bring-a-Friend Picnic featuring pony rides, a petting zoo, karaoke, games prizes and more from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15. The cost is $5 or $10 for a family.
