A couple who married 50 years ago in Berkley recently celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.
James and Sharon Manning of Gladwin got married June 23, 1962, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Berkley, according to a report in the Record & Clarion of Gladwin County in northern Michigan.
Gethsemane Lutheran Church was organized in Berkley in 1942 and merged with St. Peter's Lutheran of Detroit to form Cana Lutheran Church in 1979.

The couple began their family in Royal Oak before moving in 1978 to Gladwin, where they eventually owned a car dealership, according to the Record & Clarion report.
