It may still be winter, but the Huntington Woods Parks & Recreation Department's summer Fruit Camps are just around the corner and so are registration deadlines.
The Fruit Camps for kids in preschool through fifth grade – each named after a different fruit and designed for a specific age group – are so popular that registration is conducted via lottery in January.
- Residents' lottery forms must be postmarked no later than Jan. 20 and mailed to: , Attention Camp Lottery, 26325 Scotia Road, Huntington Woods, MI 48070. Drop-off registration is not offered. (See pages 25 and 26 of the attached Hometown Herald PDF to find more camp information and the registration form.)
- Walk-in registration for spaces not filled via lottery begins at 6 p.m. March 28. Available sessions then will be filled via a mini-lottery.
- If spaces still remain, nonresidents may sign up beginning at 8:30 a.m. April 16 for an additional 10 percent fee.
Campers will get to do arts and crafts, athletic activities and more.
